BOMA OZOBIA PROFILE

Boma Ozobia is a cross border solicitor - advocate specialising in Maritime Law, International Commercial Law, Project Finance, and Alternative Dispute resolution. She is an accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator and was nominated the London Borough of Southwark Woman Entrepreneur for 2007. She is a founding partner of Sterling Partnership Solicitors LLP voted the “best of Southwark” in 2008.

Boma as Chairwoman of the Association of Women Solicitors England and Wales was the first person of minority ethnic origin to hold this position in the entire history of the association. She represents Nigeria on the Council of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association and serves on the Executive Committee of the British Nigeria Law Forum.
She also serves on the conference planning committee of the Nigeria Bar Association’s Section on business law and is the co-author of the book, “Sisters in Law - career choices for Nigeria women lawyers”. Boma serves as a director on the board of several off shore and local companies involved in telecommunications, energy and the hospitality sectors. She is a trustee of the Royal Commonwealth Society and a member of the advisory board of WISCAR a non governmental organisation providing strategic mentoring for career women.

She was educated in Nigeria where she obtained an LLB from Rivers State University of Science and Technology and in England at King’s College, University of London where she obtained an LLM in Maritime Law. She is admitted to practise law in Nigeria and in England & Wales.
